Holding Your Keys

Some of my SL pets also have lockable devices in their other lives.  But they have nobody to hold their keys for them.

I have developed a system to solve this problem.  After explaining this to many needy subs inworld, I've decided to create this page instead.

The object is to make your keys inaccessible to you, until you contact Me, or until some prearranged time.

We do this by using a lockbox, similar to the one in this picture.  These are available around the world at hardware stores and locksmiths.  Notice that the combination is set with thumbwheels; this is the ONLY type that will work for us!

Here is what we do, to make me the holder of your keys:

1. Wear your device.  You can lock it now or later.
2. Put your key(s) in the box.
3. Follow the instructions to set the combination.  That usually requires pressing a button on the inside, or turning the shackle 180 degrees and pulling it way out.  You then spin the wheels with your thumb to set it.
4. When you have done that, WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS, take a photo with your phone.  (This is not difficult and has been done many times by others.)
5. Again, without looking, Email the photo to Me, at the address I give you.
6. When I receive your photo, I will Email back to confirm that I can read the numbers and have recorded the combination.
7. ONLY AFTER YOU RECEIVE MY CONFIRMATION, lock your device (if you have not already done so), lock the box and spin the wheels.
8. Put the box in a safe place.

VERY IMPORTANT: SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT IN ALL BDSM ACTIVITIES!!  You MUST certify to me that you have placed an emergency key in an accessible location.  Depending on the type of device, I  may require this to be in your home (perhaps frozen in an ice cube); or you may be able to give the key to a friend (without telling what it is for, just an important key you want in a safe place).  This paragraph is an ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT for me to work with you.
